Depending on the nature of the injury sustained, your Rehabilitation Plan will include a number of components which may include strengthening activities, mobilisations, soft tissue massage or functional pain relief techniques.
A manual therapy which aims to treat minor and chronic injuries caused through sport or physical activity, or to help manage chronic pain conditions or illnesses.
Benefits include reducing or eliminating pain and symptoms, improved circulation, stimulation of the nervous system, joint mobility and immune system function, increased body awareness, and helping to reduce anxiety or depression.
Treatment is effective for muscle pain, injuries received during sport or physical activity, headaches, lower back pain or repetitive strain.
Your joints must move smoothly in all directions to ensure pain-free mobility. If joints become restricted in any way, it can cause stiffness and pain, which may be combined with muscle, ligament, tendon or joint injury.
Benefits of mobility training include helping you move in a wider range of motion without muscle stiffness. This can help develop your overall exercise performance, improve agility, and prevent injury.
Wendy is an expert in the musculoskeletal system and practices joint mobilisation competently for clients conditions as a component of a therapy plan.
The body's core muscles include the spinal, pelvic floor, abdominal and hip muscles which all work together to create stability in stationary and kinetic positions. Core stability exercises are intended to develop the power and performance of these muscles.
Wendy can incorporate core stability exercises into your treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. Wendys will also show you how to perform the stability exercises at home to help sustain the benefits.
Wendy is a qualified Pilates Instructor and believes this enhances rehabilitation for her clients. Sessions are instructional, elevating body awareness, whilst having a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
Wendy recommends Therapeutic Pilates to clients who suffer from musculoskeletal pain or injury or those hoping to tackle muscle imbalances individual to their own bodies.
Sessions are available for rehab and as one-to-one lessons.
